How to protect myself?

In most situations, keeping self-awareness and taking an active role in protecting yourself is more effective than merely relying on others. The following DOs and DON'Ts are useful practices to help protect your sensitive information, assets, and yourself.

DOs DON'Ts
DO check website authenticity before entering in sensitive or personal informationDO NOT give off sensitive or personal information to unauthenticated source. If in doubt, contact the legitimate organization
DO transmit sensitive information (e.g. passwords) in encrypted format over public networks or InternetDO NOT authenticate or login your subscribed electronic services from public terminals (e.g. those in cafe shops or in libraries) or unsecured terminals.
DO check your account status, activities, and login records regularly to detect suspicious activitiesDO NOT leave logged in terminal unattended. Logout first before leaving the terminal even for a while
DO keep your cards and security devices for authentication safe. If it was found lost or stolen, cancel them immediatelyDO NOT keep written records of your passwords together with your account information
DO choose a password that is hard to guess and easy for you to rememberDO NOT share your accounts / passwords with others
DO regularly change your passwordDO NOT use a single password for all your accounts
